Arriving to Cate

If you are driving to Cate, the School is easily accessible off Highway 101.

There is a gatehouse as you drive onto Cate School’s driveway. The guard at the bottom of the gate will have the name of all CSI participants and will direct you to the parking lot.

Flying

If you are flying first to Southern California, we suggest flying to the Santa Barbara airport (SBA) or the Los Angeles airport (LAX). SBA is a 30 minute drive and LAX is a two hour drive from Cate. If you are accompanying your child to camp, please plan to arrive at Cate between 1:30pm and 3:00pm on the first day of the session and to be on campus by 11:00am on the last day of the session, leaving Cate no later than 1:30pm.

If your child will be flying as an unaccompanied minor, please notify Jessica Seriano (jessica_seriano@cate.org). We will pick up and drop off campers from the Santa Barbara airport for a fee of $50 ($25 one way) and from LAX in Los Angeles for a fee of $300 ($150 one way). If your child will be flying alone to CSI, please understand the airline’s unaccompanied minor policy. For airport drop off, CSI will help participants check in and walk them to the TSA line, but we will not wait with the participant until the flight departs.
