Despite 5-17 Loss, Cate Varsity Boys Tennis Demonstrates Determination and Skill on the Court

In a thrilling match-up that pitted the Cate Varsity Boys Tennis team against the formidable San Marcossquad, the Rams showcased their resilience and determination. Despite facing tough competition, the Cate team exhibited exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the contest.

Facing off against a division one opponent, the Rams knew they were in for a challenge. San Marcos boasted a strong lineup with three formidable singles players and a top-notch doubles team. However, the Cate team remained undaunted, ready to give it their all on the court.

One standout performance came from Ethan Bloom ’24, who delivered a stellar performance at number one singles. Bloom’s victory against San Marcos’ top player, Matthew Chung, was a testament to his skill and determination. Additionally, the duo of Nate Newlove ’25 and Harry Su ’25 impressed with their teamwork and tenacity, securing crucial points for the Rams in a closely contested doubles match.
