The Cate baseball team kicked off league play with a 6-2 win on the road against Santa Clara.

At the plate, Quinn Pullen ‘25 led the way going 2-3 with 2 walks. Alex Ke ‘27 had a hit and had 3 RBIs on the day. Josh Butler ‘26 also had a hit for the Rams. Cate took advantage of the 9 walks the Saints dished out. The Rams ran well on the basepaths, swiping 13 stolen bases.

Noah Casbarro ‘27 picked up the win. He tossed 4 innings, allowed two runs, struck out 1, and walked 3. Peter Lehman ‘25 came in relief and was dominant. The lefty tossed 3 innings and struck out 6. Ethan Gibson ‘25 ended the game with an outstanding diving play at 2nd base.

It wasn’t our prettiest game but we’re happy to start league play with a win. We look forward to improving this week and getting back at it on Friday.

The same teams square up on Friday at Cate at 4pm.
