Record: 7-5

After a challenging three-game losing streak, today was an excellent win for the Cate girl’s Varsity Lacrosse team. From the first draw to the final whistle, Cate dominated the airspace and control of the ball. Riley Pan ’24 accounted for 8/10 draws, while Lauren Hubbs ’26 and Maia Holmes ’26 both won an additional 3 draws each. Today was a great game for several younger players- Francis Davis ’24 scored her first two goals in her career- one on an 8-meter shot and the other off a beautiful cut inside. Harper Halbardier ’26 also had two quick goals in the second quarter to open the game to a 7-1 lead.

The highlight of the game came from the forced turnovers we could capitalize on during the game. Val Madriz ’25 was a strong force on defense with two caused turnovers on ground ball recoveries. Seniors Sophie Alijani, Shannon Murray, and Mel Davidson contributed with multiple forced turnovers. “The team played selflessly today. I was proud of the support and encouragement everybody gave each other today. Thank you to the many families that made it to Ojai for the game!”-Head Coach Renee Mack
