Cate enjoyed a third, three-set sweep in a row tonight against St. Bonaventure. Setter Zadin Stephens ’25 did a great job spreading out the offense to put all his hitters in a position to score for the team, earning the first point of the match with a setters dump kill. He gave our middles plenty of opportunities, with Zach Coulter ’25 and Lucien Tann ’26 tallying 4 and 3 kills a piece. We also knew we had to put some pressure on their outside attack by lining up our block to funnel the ball to our back row defense.

Mack Nieman ’25 clamped on 2 blocks while Tann, libero Lucas Huiner ’25 and Ben Richmond ’24 picked up a number of crucial digs keeping the team in system to score. Overall, our team passing and serving average was at its best by all players, missing only 6 serves with Stephens earning 6 aces, followed by Nieman and Tann earning 3 and 2 respectively. It was a particularly good night for Ben Richmond ’24 on the outside, passing and digging well and notching a remarkable 18 kills for the night. The team really came together on the court tonight and it was a well played, well deserved win!
