Fatigue Hinders Cate as Santa Clara Prevails: Redemption Awaits in Rematch

Cate              46
Santa Clara 62

I want to begin by thanking Cate’s Family and Friends for coming to support us tonight in Oxnard.

We drop to 1-3 (8-4 overall) in the Tri-Valley League with a loss to Santa Clara tonight.

The Cate School Week and our last three games were very heavy and emotional, and tonight, we were tired and a step slow and couldn’t put together a run.

Much credit to Santa Clara for playing incredible team ball and dominating the glass.

Tomorrow, we will take our much-needed rest and get back to action Monday night with a rematch and league game against Santa Clara, this time at home at Cate at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there.

JD Petitt led the Saints with 38 points. Marcus Scudder ’25 had 21 points, and Tyler Martinez ’24 had 6.

My job is to prepare these guys, and I will continue preparing for a better second round of the league.
