Why Cate? | Ari ’18

Before Cate, I didn’t know what boarding school was. I always identified school as the place you went to study during the day, where teachers taught, and only students who really cared about their education learned in class.
At Cate the word ‘school’ has a different connotation for me; Cate has become a home away from home; a place where I’ve met people I can’t imagine my life without. On this beautiful campus surrounded by stunning mountains on one side and the Pacific ocean on the other, I found a community that academically challenges me and supports me in all my endeavors and adventures. I have grown as a student, a performer, an athlete, and as a confident young woman, thanks to the experiences I’ve had at Cate.

I hope to see you on the Mesa sometime soon to tell you more about my experience as a part of the Cate community because reading about a school is never the same as seeing it in person.
