FAQs

At this time we do not. We do offer online an online payment option that is linked to your checking account.

No. We do not require parents to participate in the classroom, as most of our families have two working parents. Parents are always welcome to help if they wish and should see their child’s teacher. However, all parents are expected to participate at our two beautification days per year and for our Tractors, Trucks and Trolleys event. There are a few other opportunities to volunteer throughout the year as well.

As of Spring 2024, we have a waitlist for all of our age categories. Our conditional use permit only allows a maximum of 8 community children per year.

If you are interested in getting your child(ren) on the waitlist, please contact Co-Director Diamond Gray (diamond_gray@cate.org) or Co-Director Jessica Knapp (jessica_seriano@cate.org) with the following information:

  • Your child’s name and date of birth
  • Your preferred days to enroll
  • Your contact information

You may either call the center and inform the teacher who answers what is happening or send the director an email if that is easier.

We follow a 24-hour exclusion policy. That means children must be clear of symptoms (fever, vomiting, diarrhea) or on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school. All health and wellness guidelines are available in the Parent Handbook. You are always welcome to call the center to speak to the Director if clarification is needed.

You do not. The tuition you pay is holding a spot at the ELC. Whether your child is attending regularly, or not, full tuition is always due prior to enrollment and on designated tuition dates.

Yes, as long as your child is not ill and it’s before 11:00 am. Children may have a hard time transitioning back into lunch and nap when they have not had a chance to play with their friends and take part in the morning activities.

Of course! Please let us know when and who will be picking up your child so we may get them authorized to enter campus. Children will only be released to adults listed in their emergency release form and must present a photo ID if visiting for the first time.

Please let either a teacher or Director know in person or via email one week prior, so we can inform the staff and children of the absence.

No. We will work with you and your child through the toilet learning process. Please see our Parent Handbook (provided to all families upon enrollment) for details.

Yes! If you are interested in using cloth diapers for your child, the ELC will happily use them. Parents are required to bring in all needed diapers, covers, and a pail/wet bag for soiled diaper storage. Soiled diapers must be taken home daily and resupplied as needed.

The ELC is currently cashew and pistachio-free.

Yes. We ask you not to bring the following:

  • Sweets (this includes juice boxes and fruit snacks, cookies, candy, etc.)
  • Choking hazards (popcorn, tortilla chips, whole sausages/hot dogs, etc.)

Yes! We love celebrations. However, we ask that you keep it very simple. Cupcakes work best for birthdays at the ELC. Please let us know if you do not wish for your child to participate in these activities, and we will give you notice to make alternate arrangements during this time.
