One of Will's many contributions to campus life recently has been a reorganization of the campus recycling program, as part of his ongoing effort to raise the School's awareness of environmental matters. Cate has quadrupled its recycling in each of the past two years, due in large part to Will's strategies for involving the faculty and student body. He is also responsible for Cate's extensive Public Service program, a voluntary outreach effort that includes, among other things, weekly visits by students to extended-care homes, the collection of community gifts at Christmas, and an annual walk-a-thon.

Will was born and raised in New England and began his teaching career there; he arrived at Cate after six years as math instructor and lacrosse coach at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. He is an inveterate traveler, having seen much of the US and the world, and is a devoted fan of New England sports teams. He lives on the Mesa with his wife, Lisa, and their two young children, Scott and Matthew.
