B.A., San Francisco State University, 1980
After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Design and Industry, concentrating on Power and Transportation Studies, Matt spent twenty years in the bicycle industry. This included twelve years owning a bicycle shop in Goleta, four years as a Sales Manager for a local bicycle component manufacturer, and roles as a bicycle club founder and president, bicycle racer (both road and mountain), coach, and adult education bike maintenance teacher.
When it came time to change careers in 2000, Matt followed another area of interest and completed a Computer Network Administration certification program from Santa Barbara Business College, then worked another year for a local network support company before accepting a position with one of their clients: Cate School.
Matt lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Sylvia, two cats, and five bicycles. His interests include back country hiking, computer combat flight sims, science fiction & fantasy, badminton, and spending time with his three awesome nieces.
