Theater at Cate celebrates artistic exploration and imaginative risk-taking in traditional indoor venues and under the stars in our beautiful, outdoor amphitheater. Students focused on performing and directing can follow a progressive learning program that integrates contemporary and classical practices with an innovative curriculum culminating in a year-long Advanced Theater course. All students are invited to investigate aspects of long-form improvisation, participate in a one-act series of shows, focus on college audition techniques, or learn the art of costume and make-up design through master classes and community engagement projects.
You can be part of these or choose a student-directed plays and musicals. Scenes and skits often find their ways into Convocations and assemblies and improv performances are a part of everyday life.
