Water Polo Sees out League Season with a Win

Boys Varsity Water Polo Cate vs Villanova

Yesterday, October 16th, our Cate boys water polo team hosted Villanova Prep for our last league game of the season. The win yesterday secured a 6-0 undefeated league championship, a massive accomplishment for this group. Currently, we are sitting at an 11-3 record with one more game to play before the postseason. As winners of five straight, we are excited to carry this momentum into the playoffs and make some noise in whichever division we are placed in.

Yesterday was a total team effort. 18 guys got minutes and contributed to this win. Andrew Sheshunoff played great from the cage, racking up saves and contributing elite ball placement on some of his outlet pass assists. Sebastian Brine was able to get out on the fast break all afternoon to convert easy scores. Fletcher Prince made his presence felt in a variety of ways, stuffing the stat sheet in all three major categories. Emmanuel yet again provided that ‘engine’ like spark for us, imposing his will and physicality all game. I could say good things about all of our guys and how they played. It was a great conclusion to our league season.

Looking ahead, we play Thousand Oaks High School next Wednesday, October 22nd. Go Rams!
