Yesterday, October 2nd, our Cate boys water polo team traveled to Ventura for a league match against Foothill Tech High School. We were able to jump out to a four-goal lead to start the game and never looked back. Everyone on our roster got in the pool today and contributed to a four-quarter great team win.
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Sheshunoff had another great game from the cage, racking up 10 saves and an assist. Andrew has not allowed double-digit goals in a game this season and has been a consistent bright spot for our defense. Sophomore Fletcher Prince played lights out in this one. He was able to quarterback our offensive attack with steady perimeter playmaking and great offensive awareness.
It is never easy to get a league win on the road, and our guys took care of business yesterday. While our attention to detail could be better at times, I was pleased with the effort our guys put in. Looking ahead, we will be participating in the Buena Ventura tournament this weekend. We have four games in the next two days, starting with Royal HS and Canyon Crest this afternoon. Go Rams!
