September 16, 2025

Cate hosted Louisville on Tuesday, September 16, and faced a tough challenge against a strong and physical opponent. Louisville came out firing in the first set, using aggressive serving and dominant net play to take the set 25-12. The Rams faced a similar start in the second set, falling behind 5-0, and Louisville maintained control to win 25-15.

Cate fought back in the third set, battling point for point. The Rams pulled ahead 14-13 and had two set points at 24-22 and 24-23, but Louisville ultimately closed out the set 27-25 after several long rallies.

“Silver lining of tonight’s match was that we responded well after being down 0-2 when most teams would’ve thrown in the towel,” said coach Jordon Dyer. “We showed we could compete with a high-caliber team and had a few chances to steal a set. Senior Coco Kliman contributed several kills with no errors and helped us stay competitive in the third set. Senior Oyin Opawumi added 13 kills and 9 digs, while senior Evangeline Little led the team with 14 kills and steady serve receive throughout the match.”

Set Scores: 12-25, 15-25, 25-27

Cate’s next game will be on the road at Villanova Prep this Thursday, September 18.
