Yesterday, our Cate boys varsity water polo team hosted Malibu HS for our second league match of the season. After three quarters of back-and-forth water polo, we were able to pull away in the 4th to secure the win.

Coach’s Take

This was a four-quarter battle against a hard-working, well-coached Malibu team. Both teams battled, but our outstanding defensive showing carried us to the finish line. Holding this team to no goals in the first and third quarters and keeping them under five in total is no easy feat. Tenny Brine was a superstar, matching up with Malibu’s top scorer for three quarters, allowing no goals, and giving up no exclusions. Offensively, we were able to get going in the fourth and put away our opportunities at a high clip. This was such a fun game to be a part of, and I am so happy with our guys’ effort, focus, and will to win.
