April 20, 2026

Season record: 10-0 (7-0 League)

Today, your Cate School Boys Varsity tennis team played the most vital match of their regular season in a tussle for the Tri-Valley League championship with Foothill Tech. In the end, your Rams came out on top, securing our second consecutive title and going undefeated in league play. Despite playing a tough opponent yesterday, our players showed no signs of fatigue and defeated the dragons handily.
The team is in fine form with Bruce Li has an 8-set singles win streak, while Andrew Jayich has an outstanding 17-set singles win streak that extends back to before spring break.
Our starting lineup comprised of Hirofuji, Li, and Jayich at singles, and He/Wang, Suen/Greene, and Clinger/Barry at doubles. In the third round, Danely/Hsing subbed in at doubles one, and Bolton subbed in at singles two. Hirofuji won his sets 6-0 and 6-1, Li won his 6-4 and 6-1, and Jayich won his 6-4, 6-4, and 7-5. Singles play was rounded off by Bolton’s 6-1 victory. In doubles, Suen/Green won a pair of sets 6-1, 6-1, while Clinger/Barry won their duet 6-3, 6-1. Finally, Hsing/Danely continued yesterday’s performance to win their set 6-1.
