Junior Zwieback Wins League Race

Both the girls and boys Varsity Cross Country teams qualified for the CIF-SS D5 Cross Country Championship today at Camino Real Park in Ventura. Both teams finished third, with PRs achieved by most team members, including JV and Varsity.

This year’s TCAA Boys League Champion, Junior Ati Zwieback, ran a smart race against a strong Foothill Tech runner, taking the lead late in the race, pulling away for the win in a personal best of 15:49 for the 3-mile course. Senior Jordan Ryan placed 8th overall.

In the Varsity Girls’ race, Sophie Blank ran a great race against tough competition from Foothill Tech and Thacher to finish 4th overall, followed by Sophomore Aggie McTigue, who was 5th overall in a PR of 20:29.

The Varsity teams will compete next Friday at Mt. SAC in the prelims.
