Boys Varsity Water Polo Cate vs Thousand Oaks

Yesterday, October 22nd, our Cate boys water polo team hosted Thousand Oaks High School for our final non-league regular-season game. This one was a tale of two halves. In the first, we played exceptionally well. Our guys were making unselfish plays, setting each other up to score, and playing sound team defense. In the second, we struggled when we got into foul trouble and didn’t make enough plays down the stretch to deserve a win.

Sebastian Brine led the way with four goals. Seb scored his first shot of the game from distance and carried a strong offensive showing for the remainder of the game. Fletcher Prince played a great defensive match for us, especially down the stretch. It was nice to see him be willing and able to take on tough defensive matchups when called upon. I think this game will serve as a nice wake-up call for our group heading into the postseason.

Looking ahead, the playoff bracket is expected to be released in the next few days. Be on the lookout for the time and location of our first-round playoff game. Go Rams!
