Brooke Melton

Brooke Hughes Melton received her BA in Dance from UC Irvine and her MFA in Choreography from the University of Arizona. She has received of a variety of state, national and international honors, awards and grants for her choreography. Brooke has taught at Pacific University, Pima Community College, University of Arizona, Westmont College and Santa Barbara City College. Her choreographic works have been performed by A.W.O.L. Dance Collective, The Aireal Studio (formerly Airealistic), Grand Canyon University, Pacific University Dance Ensemble, Nebula Dance Lab, Paso Robles Chamber Ballet, Pima Community College, State Street Ballet, State Street Ballet Young Dancers, Santa Barbara Festival Ballet, UA Dance Ensemble, featured in music videos and performed at a variety of large-scale corporate and fundraising events in California, Oregon and Arizona. She has served as the company manager and rehearsal director for Santa Barbara Dance Theater. She has presented her research on dance at the National Dance Education Organization conference and served on the boards of the National Dance Education Organization and Art Without Limits. Brooke is currently on Faculty at SBCC, Westmont College and director of the dance program at Cate.
