Girls Varsity Volleyball vs La Reina

Cate girls varsity volleyball lost their fourth league match against La Reina High School on Thursday, September 22nd.

La Reina came out strong in the first set by rattling off a 12-2 lead thanks to strong serving. The Rams struggled to get any offense going in the first set and lost 8-25. The second set was a close battle for the most part until La Reina broke away from a 15-15 tie to close out the game 25-18. Cate struggled to pass the ball well and ended up giving La Reina a lot of easy point-scoring opportunities. The third set consisted of several long rallies, a handful of which ended in La Reina’s favor. After tying the game up halfway through the game, Cate struggled to side out and couldn’t finish.

“Got to take our hat to La Reina, they outplayed us and it showed on the scoreboard. Tonight showed that we’ve got a lot of work to do. We now have to move forward and focus on getting better at tomorrow’s practice.” said coach Jordon Dyer

The Rams will host the rival Toads of Thatcher, Saturday (9/24) at 3 pm.
