Track and Field vs Carpinteria

April 16, 2021

Thursday, April 16th Cate School track & field team traveled to Carpinteria High School to compete in our first track meet since the 2019 season.

It was a dual meet and the very first contest for many of our young athletes.
Our team represented well. We ran hard, had a number of PR’s (personal records), and walked away having established ourselves as a great running unit.
Congratulate your peers and celebrate their success. Shout out to Anna Disorbo ’22 who set the meet record in her 3200m race with a time of 12:34.89
Anna also took 1st place in the women’s 1600m with a time of 5:48.57

Other notable performances include sophomore, Justin Musyimi, who took 1st place in the Men’s Long Jump with a distance of 18’9″. Justin also helped our men’s 4X100m relay team (Gabriel Maddon ’22/Rory Zhang ’23/ Musyimi/Tega Umukoro ’21) find victory with a time of 49.31
It was a great day for Cate School. We even had a visit from our 2018 Captain and multiple school record holder, Rivers Sheehan ’18
