Baseball vs Ojai Valley

The Cate baseball team opened up the season with a frustrating 9-0 loss to Ojai Valley School in Ojai. Dalton Phillips ’20 got the start for the Rams and went 4 innings. Daniel Panadero ’21 and Theo Hansen ’22 each tossed an inning of relief. The Cate pitching staff didn’t walk a single hitter all game.
Both teams had three hits. Matty Holmes ’22, Scott Holmes ’20, and Charlie Schofield ’22 had the hits for Cate. The difference in the game was Cate’s 10 errors on defense.
There’s not much to say following a game like this. We didn’t play to our potential and we will look to get better going forward.
The Rams are back in action on Tuesday, February 25th against Newbury Park Adventist. The first pitch will be at 3:30p here at Cate.
