Cate (9-3, 1-1) improves to 1-1 in Frontier League action with a decisive team win over visiting Providence, 84-16.

Junior Nkemka Chukwumerije got us off to the races with a thunderous dunk after a steal in the first quarter to take an early 6-0 lead and we never looked back.

This was the first time in my coaching tenure that all players were in the scoring book, and all contributed one steal or more. It was a good rebounding game for us after a triple-overtime loss to Thacher Saturday.

We were led by senior captain Khadim Pouye who topped all scorers with 16 points.

“I am particularly proud of our defensive effort and sticking to fundamentals. We are doing a better job of simplifying the game and playing at a faster pace”, said Coach Gil.

We are home Friday against visiting Grace Brethren at 6pm.
