Girls JV Tennis vs Laguna Blanca

The girls jv tennis team concluded their MMXIX season with an 11-7 victory at Laguna Blanca School on October 29th. Juniors Leilani Mendez and Asa Sam put Cate on the board with another strong performance at 2 doubles. Junior Tali Nam battled her way to a 7-5 win for point number 2. Seniors Lina Infante and Izzy Dewell captured court one doubles, a sweet send-off for their final Cate tennis match. Sophomores Jinny Chung and Charlotte He took care of court 3 doubles 6-3, and sophomore Rachel Ma won court 3 singles to put Cate ahead 5-1 at the end of the first round. Rachel put another win on the board in round two. Freshmen Ella Chang and Athena Ke picked up another court for Cate’s total. Freshman Liz Sutter and sophomore Kelsey Sha played well taking a court in round two and junior Rae Fox fought for another court that put Cate ahead nine courts to one. Seniors Tamsyn Taptich and Juliette Calderon clinched the match with their doubles victory in the third round. Junior Avery Carter and freshman Lindsey Laurence took an 11th court for good measure. The girls finished the season with an overall record of 5 wins and 2 loses.
