Cross Country – Dos Pueblos Invitational

The Rams competed in the Dos Pueblos Invitational at Chase Palm Park on Friday.  Cate entered teams in the freshman and sophomore boys’ and girls’ races, where the top three runners counted for a team score.  On the girls side, the class of 2022 (sophomores) had a perfect score for the second year in a row, taking the three top spots en route to an easy win. Meena Baher won her first meet of the season, finishing in 19:31.  Anna DiSorbo was close behind in 20:12, followed by Kennedy Simpson in 21:10.  The freshman finished third, led by Kendall Thorne in 8th place (21:18), Lylie Bechtel in 11th (21:33), and Talia Tom, 14th in 22:05.  Senior Tesfa Asmara had the best time on the day for the Rams, finishing the flat 3 mile oceanside course in 16:49 and 12th place.  The freshman boys were 7th in a ten team field, led by Caden Fuchs who had a breakthrough race to finish in 12th in 18:13.  Justin Musyimi broke into the varsity ranks with a 27th place finish in 19:29, followed closely by Harry McAdam in 29th in 19:33.  The sophomores were 10th, led by Nick Patrick in a fast 17:24 (14th), Peter Wood in 37th (18:33) and Andrew Busse in 41st (18:51).

The varsity Rams will race next on Friday, October 25th in the legendary Mt. SAC Invitational in Walnut, with the girls at 2:14 and the boys at 3:09.
