Boys Volleyball vs Bishop Diego

May 11, 2018

“We knew we were going to have to play solid, disciplined defense and take a lot of swings against a good block to get past Bishop,” said Cate Head Coach KC Collins. The Rams did just that and were able to come away with a hard-earnedfour-sett victory over the Cardinals.

Cate adjusted to their setter picking up most of the digs and executed a better out-of-system offense. Not only did Sebastian Richardson ’19 rally up 23 digs, but he also did a great job hustling to the ball and making smart choices on set distribution, earning 2 kills of his own. Ethan Ng ’20 had a great match connecting well on the quick hits swinging a .333 along with picking up several digs and a block. Albert Barber ‘ 21 served very strong earning a couple aces as well as 12 digs. Both Cullen Barber ’19 and Theo Mack ’20 earned double-doubles with Barber at 13 kills and 14 digs and Mack at 22 kills and 19 digs They also passed very well and both recorded a number of assists.

“Ian MacFarlane ’18 stepped in to put up a solid block on the right side. We also had strong serving by both Ryan Suh ’21 and Carson Williams ‘ 19. Most impressive on the night was our communication, teamwork, and an unflappable attitude even when down,” says Collins.
