Boys Varsity Lacrosse vs Dos Pueblos.

April 26, 2017

The Cate boys lacrosse team played a physical game against Dos Pueblos on Tuesday, April 18. Despite leading 7-4 at halftime, the Rams couldn’t keep the Chargers from scoring in the second half and ended up suffering a tough loss 13-11.

“Even though we beat Dos Pueblos handily in our last match up, they came ready to play on their home field,” said Cate Head Coach Mackie Greason ’11.
The Cate offense was lead by Will Bowlin ’18 with four goals and two assists; the junior scored at will and continues to be a dominant force for the Rams. Having his best game of the year, Henry Walsh ’17 tallied four goals. Also contributing to the office was Caden Cutter ’18, with one goal and Ben Jessup ’18 with two goals. Charlie Haymen ’20 and Pierce Lundt ’17 anchored the Cate face-off. “Our middies had a tough day running with little subs, so kudos to them for giving their best effort,” added Greason.
The Cate defense started off really hot forcing turnovers and stuffing door step shots. Chris Figueroa ’17 had nine saves on the day and saved the team from many defensive miscommunications.

“Despite having a 3-7 record, this group of guys continues to work hard and show improvement each practice. Their hard work and commitment to lacrosse will pay off in the next couple of seasons,” added Greason.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday, April 25 when they take on Santa Barbara High at Cate. That contest will start at 4 pm.
