Cate's Rams completed the 2012 spring campaign with a well-fought win over the San Marcos High School Royals. The teams battled to split each round of play with 3 wins apiece, Cate earned the win with by picking up crucial games in every set of singles and doubles. In the first round of play, senior Blake Mackall set the tone for the afternoon by besting Petar Jivkov, Channel League Finalist and one of the county's finest preps, 7-5. Blake went on to win his next sets without dropping a game. Blake's individual performance was supported by a gritty team effort earning points and important games at every position in the line up. Both Austin Lokre '12 and Alex Erling '13 contributed crucial wins in singles. Cate's tandems earned fine wins at the #1 position with Abhay Singh '13 and Brendon Lokre '15 earning 2 points, and Michael Revord ''14 and Thys Northup '13 at #3 tossing in another 2 wins. Parker Gribb '13 and Jack Hoover '14 at the #2 position played tough, competitive matches and earned crucial games in each of their sets.
