March 28, 2012
As Dunn is always a well-coached team that knows our strengths and weaknesses, they came out strong and held us scoreless for about half of the first-half. If you've seen the play of Alexis, Annie, Lisa, Emily, Taylor and the rest of our scoring threats, you understand that this was no small feat. Finding the open player with a balanced attack was the key to our success as Dunn was going to double- and triple- team Annie and Alexis all game. Take a look at the stats below, as they give a good idea of how the game went for us offensively. Defensively, we continue to pull together, adjust as necessary, and make due with what we have (Lela being out with bad shin splints, for example). Junior goalkeeper Yansy Salmeron kept her head up and in the game even while facing the rocket-like shots from Dunn. She did a great job making the 6 saves she did.
