Persis graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Global History and her master’s degree in Global and International Studies. Her enthusiasm for teaching was confirmed during her graduate career, while serving as both a teaching assistant and a graduate mentor for the students at UCSB. Deciding to enrich her studies further, she moved to New York and her research efforts quickly led to collaboration with both Princeton University and Columbia University, while at the New School in pursuit of her doctoral degree.
Alongside her academic endeavors, Persis is a dedicated tennis player. Coached by a Wimbledon champion, she started playing tennis at the age of three, then went on to lead her high school team through CIF victories, as they achieved national acclaim, earning her MVP and Coaches’ Award from the team. She joins Cate as the Head JV tennis coach and hopes to share her enthusiasm for the sport with the community here at Cate. Persis is currently writing a book, and working to complete her PhD in the History of Western Thought.
