College Counselor
Fine Arts Faculty
BA, Brown University
MIB, Pepperdine University
Appointed: 2008
Laura graduated from Brown University with a BA in Anthropology and a concentration in Art and Archaeology. She worked as an archaeologist before seeking a Masters in International Business with a French focus from Pepperdine University. As part of her coursework, she completed an internship with Nielsen Marketing International in Brussels, Belgium. The internship evolved into a position as Manager of Internal Communications for the corporate headquarters. In this role Laura traveled throughout Europe, her responsibilities ranging from coordinating communication releases in 14 different languages to designing posters and training packages.

Driven by her interest in art and education, Laura returned to the states when offered the opportunity to expand an art department at a private boarding school. During her time there, Laura received summer fellowships for programs at the Smithsonian Institution and Skidmore. She also pursued further education in French Language and Human Development. After six years of teaching, Laura was lured back into the corporate world where she served for seven years as PR Director and Web Site Producer for a company specializing in design and manufacturing.

Laura is thrilled to now be a member of the academic community at Cate; she assists with College Counseling and teaches Foundation Visual Arts.

Laura enjoys painting, swimming, hiking, yoga, and surfing. Always up for a new challenge, she recently added piano lessons to her scores of activities. She lives off campus in nearby Montecito.
