Celebrate your return to the Mesa with your classmates and members of the outstanding Cate School faculty. Enjoy a bounty of hors d’oeuvres and drinks. This event is for adult guests only, please. Pick up a Frisbee and a course map in the McIntosh Room anytime during the day and enjoy a round of Frisbee golf.
 
8:00am - 2:30pm Junior Camp Cate
(Meet in Raymond Commons at 8:00am)
Children ages 5-12 are welcome to join our Junior Camp Cate counselors for a fun-filled day of activities on the Mesa. Parents should arrive at Raymond Commons at 8:00am. Children will be placed in groups by age (5-7, 8-10, 11-12). Each group will participate in activities such as the Mesa Race, ropes course, arts & crafts, lunch, and a movie in Hitchcock Theatre. Drop-off and pick-up in Raymond Commons. Parents should plan on scheduling a babysitter outside of the Junior Camp Cate times (8:00am - 2:30pm). Children must be registered for the children's all-weekend pass to participate
 
8:30–9:30am 32nd Annual Mesa Race
(2.5 miles, starts from Day Walkway in front of the McBean Library)
Lace up your running shoes for a refreshing run around the Mesa! Race t-shirts will be given to all participants, as well as a prize for both the male and female winners.
 
9:00-10:00am Mesa Tours 
(Class of 1985 House Admission Building)
Join student tour guides for a tour of the campus. The tours will leave from the new admission building at 9:00am.  
 
10:00am–12:00pm Climbing Wall with Cate's Outdoors Program 
(Ropes Course)
Join Science Faculty Member and outdoor enthusiast Jamie Kellogg as you scale obstacles and attempt the climbing walls. No experience necessary. Children under 12 must be with an adult.
 
10:30–11:30am Alumni Leadership Council Meeting

Listen to Headmaster Benjamin D. Williams IV and Alumni Council President Jack Jackson '95 in a conversation about the state of the School. You will hear an admission and college update, and plans for Cate’s future. Learn how you can be involved in the Alumni Leadership Council’s latest endeavors and help create future programming. Nominations for Distinguished Alumni welcome. All alumni are welcome. Come share your ideas.

1:00pm–2:30pm Backcountry Hike
(Meet at the Kirby Quadrangle)
Join Outdoor Program Director Ned Bowler '83 on a 90-minute mildly strenuous hike up to Bee Camp. Please wear sneakers/hiking boots and long pants. Water bottles will be available prior to the hike in the McIntosh Room. Suggested age is 7 years or older. Hiking without a Cate School certified guide is strictly prohibited.  
 
 
2:00–3:30pm Alumni Tennis Matches

Join your fellow alumni for this Camp Cate classic. All levels are welcome, as well as spouses and guests. 
 
2:00–3:30pm Alumni Basketball & Squash Games
(Sprague Gymnasium and Fleischmann Gymnasium)
Basketballs, squash racquets, and balls will be available for pick-up games in the gyms. Squash players are required to wear proper eyewear.

Everyone is welcome to attend this Twelve-Step Meeting.
 
4:00–4:30pm Memorial Service for Alumni and Faculty

We encourage alumni and friends to remember and remark on schoolmates and faculty who have passed away in the last year.

(Class of 1985 House Admission Building)
Headmaster Benjamin D. Williams IV invites all reunion classes, from '45 to '10, to join him at the new admission building for cocktails and appetizers while enjoying the splendor of the setting sun on the Mesa. This is a chance for all classes to mingle and exchange Cate experiences prior to reunion dinners.
 
6:30–8:30pm Reunion Dinner

Join your classmates for appetizers, drinks, and dinner at the home of a Cate faculty member. Your class photo will be taken at this event, so please be on time. Unwind after the great weekend and get some exercise before leaving the Mesa. This game will be co-ed and family friendly. All are welcome to come out after brunch! Language Department Chair David Wood will provide fresh coffee at the Nelson D. Jones '48 Stables for those who attend. 
 
11:00am Dorm Check-out
Please be considerate of check-out time as cleaning is scheduled to begin at 11:00am.

 

Also available for your use:

  • The E.L. Wiegand Community Center: Always open. Enjoy board games, ping pong, foosball, a pool table, and television.
  • Emmett-Horowitz Aquatic Center: Open from 8:00am-7:30pm. There is no lifeguard, to be able to swim at least three people must be in the pool area. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Athletic Facilities: Open from 7:00am-9:00pm. Check out sports equipment from CCHQ and join a game of basketball, tennis, or squash.
  • McBean Library: Open from 10:00am-5:00pm. Check out Cate's library or use the computers to access the Internet. Newspapers are available in the McIntosh Room.
