October 2010 marked the conclusion of Cate School's 100th year. An extraordinary milestone in the life of this fine school, Cate's Centennial has been an opportunity to look back at a century of the purest form of human endeavor—the quest for knowledge and understanding. It is also a time when we must look forward and do our part to see that our future outshines even our distinguished past. In preparation for our centennial, therefore, the Board of Trustees, after much study and careful consideration voted to undertake a $65 million Centennial Campaign, which was launched in 2005, to honor this landmark event; $62 million toward this goal has already been raised.
If you are interested in honoring the School's Centennial by establishing or contributing to either an endowed fund in support of teachers or students, or a capital project, please contact Grayson Bryant '95 at grayson_bryant@cate.org.

" There on the Mesa, high above the curving coast of the blue Pacific, flanked by the canyons and sheltered by the mountains we knew well, the School remains: a steadfast light in a toubled world; a friendly environment of lofty purpose, intelligent striving, and discipline under freedom."
(from the introduction to Mr. Cate's book, School Days in California)
