Parents of alumni are cordially invited to serve Cate in the following ways:
The Cate School Alumni Parent League (APL) is an organization made up of parents of all Cate alumni. Membership is automatic for all those whose children have spent at least one year as students on the Mesa.
The objectives of the APL are twofold: first, to continue our relationships with each other and the School through a variety of on-and-off-the Mesa activities. These include an annual “APL Reunion Weekend” every spring.
The other objective of the APL is to provide opportunities for the parents of alumni to carry on the Cate legacy of Servons by volunteer assistance to the School. Cate APL members host receptions, sell Cate Cargo during Parents' Weekends, welcome foreign students into their homes, help out in the library, and even drive Cate students to doctors' appointments. APL volunteer service is wonderfully helpful to the School and equally rewarding for those who engage in it.
Invite others to join you in supporting the School by becoming a Cate Fund volunteer. Those interested in making calls on behalf of the annual fund may contact Cate Fund Director Colin Donovan at 805-684-4127 x266 or colin_donovan@cate.org.
The Advancement and Admission Officers are always grateful for opportunities to gather Cate friends together in the comfort of a home, both around the country and around the world. Contact Director of Alumni Andrew MacDonnell at andrew_macdonnell@cate.org to volunteer your home for an event.
Connect with other parents of alumni, current parents, alumni, and friends of Cate by attending regional receptions and/or service opportunities in your area sponsored by the School. Look for announcements and invitations by mail, email, and at www.cate.org/alumni.
