I usually wake up at this time if my alarm is fully functional. I shower, brush, and dress appropriately for the school day. |
7:25
I head over to the Dining Hall to get some grub before classes begin. They say it is the most important meal of the day. I also carry my bag with the books that I need for the day. |
8:00
While on the way to Spanish class (a double block), the sprinkler begins its day and I, as a result, feel the immediate effects of its hard work. Nevertheless, I carry on trying not to forget that I may well be late if I don’t hurry. |
9:20
English is next so I have to walk from the chapel to the School House classrooms and find my seat next to my wonderfully thoughtful partner who asks me why in the world I forgot to dry myself after my shower in the morning. After carefully explaining that the sprinklers do not recognize friend from foe, we begin to dive into literature, writing, or discussion. |
10:10
Assembly begins and I take my seat next to my fellow advisee members. Hilarious skits, ingenious birthday announcements, and completely random laughs from Mr. Mochel make the 15 minutes seem like 5. |
10:35
After being at class for a portion of the morning, I take my time to walk to my room and enjoy my free period. Once at my destination, I study for an upcoming test or get some productive work done. |
11:25
Environmental Science book in hand, I make my way to the Mudd science building to learn about green house gases and the sort. Mr. Caditz awaits our arrival, slowly scanning the room to see who will notice the strange balloons floating at the top of the ceiling. |
12:10
Lunch, finally!! As a teenage boy with a relatively high metabolism, I immediately know when it is time to feed. Like a carnivore, I grab all the protein that I can lay my hands on. I find a table outside – the senior eating spot – and take a seat next to my fellow classmates. |
12:40
After a heavy meal, I manage to make it to Calculus on time and to absorb enough information to do the homework. It seems the heavy meal was not the best idea – I now feel sleepy and the air wraps a warm blanket around me. However, with a test coming up, I must pay attention. |
1:30
I have made it. The last class of the day is here and another 45 minutes of solid concentration can send me to sports satisfied. Physics is the topic at this moment and I happily accept it as it is one of my favorite courses. |
2:00
The best thing about last period free is that you are done with the academic day and look forward to the athletic challenges that lie ahead. |
3:15
I gather my rackets and head to the courts. Of course, the equipment which I choose to carry is completely based on the season – winter being squash and spring being tennis. I push myself and try to get some exercise in for the day. |
5:30
My shower takes only a few moments and I sprint to the dining hall anticipating a feast. Sure enough, a feast there is. Everything from salads to exotic meats can be found within the premise. Students conjure their appetites and dig in for a well deserved meal. |
7:00
I usually have an activity planned at this time so I poke my head in to find out what is happening on the lively Cate campus. Apparently, there is an International Club convocation practice and I seem to have acquired the lead spot for making a fool of myself. But no matter, I accept the club’s decision and rightly try to fill the shoes of an imbecile in a dance scene. |
8:00
Time to hit the books. But, I thank Mr. Perlee for all the hard work that he does trying to get the students as many free periods as possible to get work done. Luckily, I used the frees wisely. |
11:00
Time flies by and before I know it, another day has passed for me. I take a good look around at the people and the beautiful ocean and thank God again for what he has given me. Then the lights go out and I do too. |
