Step 1. Request information

Step 2. Schedule a visit

It is important for you and your parents to have a campus visit and interview when school is in session and before the application deadline of January 15. Please call or email the admission office to arrange a visit to the Mesa. (805) 684-4127 x 217 or click here to schedule a visit.

Step 3. Register for testing

We require that applicants applying for ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) and that the scores be forwarded directly to us. In order for your scores to arrive before the application deadline of January 15, 2011, we suggest that you register for the SSAT no later than the January testing date. If you chose to take the ISEE, the Cate School ISEE code number is 050485. You may reach the ISEE office at (800) 446-0320.

Eleventh grade applicants may submit the SSAT, PSAT, or SAT scores. Additionally, we require that non-native English speakers take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The Cate School TOEFL code number is 8529. You may reach the TOEFL Office at (877) 863-3546 or (609) 951-1100.

Step 4. Complete the application (Due January 15)

Completed applications must be submitted by January 15, 2011. Download the application for Fall 2011 admission or request a hard copy by filling out our on-line request form.  The Application Checklist provides details about the contents of the application.

Cate also accepts the SSATB common application. Click here to utilize this service.

If you are applying through A Better Chance (ABC), the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation, or the New Jersey Seeds Foundation, we request that you complete our supplemental application form. Download the Supplement Form.
