Girls Varsity Lacrosse vs Valencia

The Cate girls varsity lacrosse team opened the season on Tuesday, February 28 with a solid win against Valencia, outscoring the Vikings 17-2. Most of the play was in the offensive zone, with Brie Walker ’18 controlling the attack and scoring six goals. Captain Katherine Grossman ’17, Daphne McKeefry ’19, and Maddie Ericsson ’19 all were serious offense threats while also contributing to the midfield possession.

“I give huge kudos goes to the freshmen, Piper Brooks ’20 and Liza Borghesani ’20, who played outstandingly in their first varsity lacrosse game,” said Cate Head Coach Renee Mack.

Walker led the way with six goals, McKeefry added four, Erikson chipped in three, and Grossman tallied one.

The Rams hit the field again on Thursday, March 2 at Simi Valley, 5:00 p.m.
