Dear Cate Parents,
Congratulations are in order for some of our big CPO committees this past weekend! A heartfelt thank you to our “fabulous five” Winter Formal team (Stephanie Mayer, Tracey Reif, Susan McCaw, Melinda Dexter, and Gwen Rehnborg) and all the volunteers who came out to help set up for this fabulous event. I had the great privilege of bartending before the dinner where I witnessed dapperly clad young gentlemen, beautifully dressed girls, and a room full of smiles! As a live band played old-fashioned music, kids sipped “mocktails” and played a little poker while nibbling on special hors d’oeuvres beautifully prepared by Tim Fox and the Cate kitchen staff. Dinner and dancing followed, and it was an evening of elegance, where the kids soaked up all the fun!
On Sunday, all Cate students received a beautiful Valentine’s Day bag in their dorms thanks to Susan Soh, Sidney McCullers, and a host of other CPO volunteers who feverishly worked all afternoon assembling in the McIntosh room.
Sunday evening, faculty appreciation chair Gay Browne coordinated a lovely “Love for Our Faculty” event with live music, Valentine’s Day themed goodies, and chocolates for the faculty to enjoy. Thank you to Gay and to her team for making our teachers feel loved!
On Tuesday, prom co-chairs Amy Mayfield and Jasmine Sahani coordinated a big effort to assemble 700 beautiful red roses and over 1000 cookies for Valentine’s Day for both students and faculty. Thanks to those who participated, the prom committee raised almost $1,500 for senior prom! Big kudos to the team for their tremendous work and effort.

How do I begin to express my sincere gratitude to all our lovely parent volunteers? You help make our CPO thrive but more importantly you keep our students and faculty the happy campers that they are. With appreciation and with heartfelt sentiments, I thank you.
