Students have regular oppotunities to hike, climb, surf, kayak, and explore all the outdoor adventures that the Central Coast of California has to offer.
Situated in a grove of eucalyptus trees, Cate's ropes course is the perfect location for students to build connections, both with their peers and their surroundings.
Rock climbing at Cate is a favorite extracurricular among students. The rock climbing tower allows students to work on their climbing skills before heading off-campus for climbing excursions.
Equipped with handholds and foam bouldering pads, the bouldering house is ideal for practicing rock climbing and bouldering skills.
Cate has an extensive inventory of outdoor equipment for student use. In addition to backpacking and camping gear, Cate's Outdoor Program is stocked with surfboards, sea kayaks, white water kayaks and rafts, mountain bikes and stand up paddle boards.
